Georgia Coalition to End Homelessness

Welcome

Dear Concerned Individual:

Welcome to the Georgia Coalition to End Homelessness Web Site. Since 1995, GCEH has been dedicated to finding solutions to the issues surrounding homelessness in the State of Georgia. The Coalition is committed to public education and awareness of homeless issues, building and facilitating community collaborations, working to ensure appropriate referrals of persons in crisis, facilitating the ongoing identification and development of homeless resources, assessing gaps, technical support to providers, and serving as "agents for change."

On any given day in the state of Georgia, there are thousands of our citizens struggling to meet their basic human needs. Of that number, more than 55% are estimated to be single parent families with children. And conservative estimates are that on any given night in Georgia more than 18,000 people have no place to call home and are residing in homeless shelters and other temporary places they call home. I hope through information presented at this web site you will be able to familiarize yourself with the facts about a topic that too often remains hidden. National statistics confirm that millions of Americans are at risk of homelessness every day by being just a paycheck or two away from despair.

The Georgia Coalition to End Homelessness encourages your comments and feedback. We welcome those who are committed to change and interested in participating in our organization. If you have any questions, need additional information, or would like to support our efforts, please do not hesitate to contact our office.

Thank you for your interest and concerns about homeless issues in Georgia.

Sincerely,

Katheryn A. Preston

Executive Director
